This applies to:

within a structure involving multiple CFCs

CFC reporting must also be submitted for the following types of companies:

An active operating company

that conducts business activities, generates income, enters into contracts, or holds assets

An inactive (dormant) CFC

through which no business activity is conducted

A sold or liquidated company

for which a notification of loss of control over the CFC is submitted

A CFC exempt from taxation

or a foreign entity regardless of whether it generated profit during the reporting period
